Larger lap, start, and stop buttons
Hi,
I use watches for track coaching. Having tried ALL of the interval stopwatches on the App Store, this one is the best! Nicely done.
On an iPad mini, the buttons for stopping and starting and lap counting are customizable, but even at their largest they are very small. With 4 active watches for a relay, over 50% of my screen is still not in use. I would pay $20 for this app to have larger buttons because everything else it does is ideal. :)
Thank you
Bob

So the larger buttons and lap animation are now in 1.1, so I’m marking this as closed. If you feel like submitting a new App Store review, that’d be good by me!

It has a motion population graphic and shows the lap number.
Now I get why every time I sprint to the other side of the track it asks me if I want to undo! :)

I should add that if you realize immediately that you hit the lap button twice, just shake the ipad and accept the undo prompt. Same with a false start, or any other button.
The flash is an interesting idea. But I'm not quite sure what you mean on apple's stopwatch. I tried it just now, and the laps just appear in the column? Maybe a screen shot would help describe what you mean.

Just used the split editing fnxn last night... Excellent interface love it, had no idea it was there!
There is a small animation for when lap is hit, sound often can't be heard at loud meets... I wonder if the whole bar could quickly flash rather than just the lap spot? Another thought is updating how the splits animate into the info bar... It is very subtle currently; if you look at how the apple default stopwatch populates splits it is more functional and clear. Let me know if you need a screen shot of this.
Thank for all the replies and interest in updates so far.

Glad you like the new layout. I'll actually add both of those layouts to the next version.
Well, you can indeed edit out the split (or even change the value, e.g. If you know you hit it late). Just tap on the watch in the Watches tab, and you can edit the name, add notes specific to this person/race, edit any of the times, or delete laps... Use the Send to Current Race in History tab to reload a race for editing.
Interesting idea on the animation for laps. There is a brief one (generic button flash), and a high pitched beep (do you have sounds on?), but I'll see if something else might make sense.

Yes!!! That looks like a dream.
Having just used it for a meet today, two other things that came to mind as possible new features are 1) an animation on the lap button so that it is clear it has been pushed, and 2) the ability to edit a runner's split after a race is finished. I accidentally hit lap on a runner twice on one of their laps... Tried to edit that out on the results page... Not sure if that is hard to program in or not. ... Love this app I've been showing it to all the other coaches they are jealous!

It looks better. I prefer the horizontal banners ( that stretch the whole screen ) because you can run your thumb down the side and split runners as they all cme through. Will the larger size work for the horizontal as well?

How's this?
You can either view on your iPad, or print out with an appropriate scale
or with even biggerer buttons:

I left a review in App Store shortly after posting this. I also bought the ad free inapp purchase. :)
I'll draw up a sketch tomorrow sometime and get it over to you.
Thanks for the timely response.

Great idea. Not having an iPad Mini, that size issue hadn't even occurred to me! I'll make you a deal: no need to pay extra, but if you do a rough sketch of the layout (or even a couple) that would be most useful to you (using the elements of the existing layouts), I'll be happy to implement it in the next release. You can either draw it up, or just describe what it would look like.
Thank you for the nice comment also. In the department of shamelessly begging, any chance of posting that in the App Store?
